About Frogcake
What is Frogcake?
Frogcake is a task management app that tells you exactly what to work on next. Instead of staring at a long to-do list, you tell Frogcake how much time you have, and its algorithm picks the single best task for you based on priority, deadlines, and other factors you customize.
How is Frogcake different from other to-do apps?
Most to-do apps just organize your list — you still have to decide what to work on. Frogcake eliminates that decision. Its algorithm weighs priority, deadlines, task age, how much you enjoy (or dread) each task, and more. You get one task at a time, with a built-in timer to keep you focused.
Why is it called Frogcake?
The name comes from two productivity strategies. 'Eat the Frog' (from a Mark Twain quote) means tackling your hardest task first. 'Eat the Cake' is the opposite — start with something enjoyable to build momentum. Frog + Cake = Frogcake. The algorithm combines the best of both approaches.
What does the algorithm consider?
The algorithm weighs: task priority, deadline proximity, how long the task has been waiting, your joy rating (how much you enjoy or dread it), time available, and whether it's billable work. You can customize the weight of each factor to match how you like to work.

How do I sign up?
Click 'Start Free Trial' and create an account with your email. No credit card required. You'll get 30 days of full access to all features.
Is there a mobile app?
Frogcake is a web app that works great on any device — desktop, tablet, or phone. It's fully responsive and optimized for touch. You can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.
Can I use Frogcake with my team?
Yes! Frogcake supports multiple users in a 'pond' (our term for a team). You can assign tasks to specific people, filter by who's working on what, and track completions across the group. The second seat is always free.
How do I import my existing tasks?
Currently, you add tasks manually through the app. We're working on CSV import and integrations with other tools. For now, many users find that manually entering tasks is a good opportunity to review and prioritize what actually matters.
Pricing & Trial
Is there a free trial?
Yes! Every new account gets a 30-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card required to start.
What does it cost after the trial?
Annual plan: $29/seat/year (best value). Monthly plan: $5.99/seat/month. The second seat in every pond is always free — perfect for a spouse, assistant, or collaborator.
What happens when my trial ends?
You can still view and complete existing tasks, but you won't be able to add new ones until you upgrade. Your data is never deleted during this grace period.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no long-term contracts. Cancel anytime and you'll retain access until the end of your billing period.
Features
What is the built-in timer?
When you start a task, a countdown timer begins based on your time estimate. It helps you stay focused and track how long tasks actually take. If you go over, the timer keeps running so you can see the real time investment.
What are 'Ice' and 'Punt'?
These are ways to defer a task. 'Ice' shelves a task temporarily (default 30 minutes) while preserving any time you've already spent. 'Punt' delays a task longer (you choose how many hours) and resets the timer. Both are great for when you're stuck or interrupted.
Can I track billable hours?
Yes! Mark tasks as 'billable' and Frogcake automatically tracks time in 0.1-hour increments. You can generate billable time reports filtered by date range, category, or client matter, and export to CSV for invoicing.
Does Frogcake support recurring tasks?
Yes. You can create tasks that repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or on custom schedules. Frogcake tracks your progress within each period and automatically resets when a new period begins.
Can I create subtasks?
Yes. You can create subtasks under a parent task. The parent stays blocked until all subtasks are complete — great for breaking down larger projects or coordinating across team members.
Privacy & Security
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices and never sell your data to third parties.
Can I export my data?
Absolutely. You can export all your tasks (pending and completed) to CSV anytime. Your data belongs to you.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
If you cancel, your data remains accessible (read-only) for 90 days. After that, it's permanently deleted. You can export everything before then.
Do you use my tasks to train AI?
No. Your task data is private and never used to train AI models or shared with third parties.

How do I get help?
Email us at support@frogcake.com. We typically respond within 24 hours on business days. Once you're logged in, there's also a detailed in-app FAQ with answers to common questions.
Is there documentation?
Yes! The in-app FAQ covers everything from basic usage to advanced features like algorithm customization. We also have contextual help throughout the app.
Can I request a feature?
Absolutely! Email feedback@frogcake.com with your ideas. We read every suggestion and many of our features came from user requests.
